Abstract

In this article, in line with UNESCO's proposal to use education as a tool to achieve sustainability, an analysis carried out at a Spanish public secondary education center on how the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) are worked both at the center and subject level is presented. Three questionnaires were prepared which, together with a semi-structured interview, allowed to identify how many SDG and competencies each subject works and the degree to which each SDG is worked in each training cycle. Taking into account the results obtained, an improvement proposal was made to align the strategy of the secondary school’s managers with education for sustainability and transform it into a series of action plans specified in different projects that involve teachers and students in the achievement of all the SDG. The work presented here could be taken as the basis for future analyzes and similar improvements in other centers, taking into account the methodology followed in this work and the questionnaires carried out.
