Educational research agents as subjects and objects of study
Abstract
The knowledge built around the educational field would not be possible without the agents that intervene in its research. The present study aimed to delineate a general panorama of the agents of educational research in Chihuahua, México. With a mixed research approach, first, a descriptive study is presented with hard data obtained from the research production recovered in Chihuahua during the decade 2009-2019. Subsequently, a qualitative hermeneutic approach was made to the studies on agents of educational research that were produced during the decade. The inputs to conceptualize the production and the institutional conditions were obtained from a state diagnosis of educational research, in addition to the information provided through an electronic instrument that was applied to researchers noted for their production. Educational research agents carry out their activities mainly in groups associated with a thematic field. Potential researchers stood out in number, which are those who produce tangentially and regularly do so with others. Articles and papers predominated and few of them were books and books chapters, indicating that the majority do not have adequate resources and institutional conditions. The analysis of agents as research subjects in Chihuahua is scarce and therefore constitutes an open vein to be explored.
